Try AAC+
A few months ago we swapped our 24K feed of Apple-FM from MP3pro to AAC+ encoding. This was not without problems, but is now working well.
Looking at the sound at the listeners end through a spectrum analyser we can now see that the 24K feed seems to have a better frequency response than the 64K feed. There are higher frequencies getting to the speakers.
This is quite amazing considering the saving in bandwidth.
So you may like to try listening to our 24K AAC+ feed and see if it sounds better for you.
You can listen using WinAmp, RealPlayer, iTunes, and VLC
